Panglao Hotels, Hostels and Resorts

If you're looking for accommodation in Panglao, you'll be spoilt for choice. There's everything from amazing 5* luxury beach resorts to budget hostels and everything in between. Whether you choose to stay in the busy and popular Alona Beach or somewhere more off the beaten path, you're certain to have plenty of options to choose from.

In our experience places do tend to book up fairly early online in high season, so if there's somewhere specific you'd like to stay it may be worth making a reservation in advance. We also found the accommodation here to be expensive by Southeast Asian standards - nearby Indonesia and Malaysia offer far cheaper accommodation that's often of a higher standard in terms of cleanliness and facilities. If you do have a little more budget available then Panglao offers some really gorgeous beach side resorts featuring lovely little bungalows and very good restaurants.

Alona BEach

Starting with Alona Beach, the most popular resort area on Panglao island, there are some good options available at all price points.

For a cheap, friendly and sociable hostel then you can't go wrong with Moon Fool Hostel, which is just a 5 minute walk from the beach and offers dorms and one private room. This is a very popular spot for budget travellers. Another budget friendly option, this time a hotel, is Villa Almedilla which is also a short walk to the beach and offers AC, wifi and private bathrooms with hot showers. Many budget options will have shared bathrooms and cold water showers only.

In the midrange in Alona Beach, the Oasis Resort is a good choice with rooms from around PHP2700 depending on season. It's affordable for what you get and the accommodation is bungalow style with AC or fan. The resort is close to the beach and set in nice gardens.

If you're looking for luxury accommodation then the best and most popular option is Hennan Resort with its well appointed rooms, fantastic onsite restaurant and infinity pool, as well as a private stretch of beach front with plenty of sunbeds.

Elsewhere on the island

Outside of Alona Beach there are other resorts to choose from.

Bohol Beach Resort is probably the best known of these, and is located on Dumaluan Beach. It offers everything you could want from a beachfront resort and is very popular with both locals and travellers so the beach itself can get pretty busy. If you're on a budget and want to stay in this area then there are a few small homestays where rooms go for USD20 and upwards per night - these can often be found on AirBnB.

If you're looking for accommodation in Panglao that's more unique or off the beaten track there are a couple of travel favourites. The first is Bohol Bee Farm, one of the most popular visitor attractions on the island. This is a charming spot on the farm, where bees are cultivated for honey and many different varieties of organic produce are grown. It's a really great initiative and has a great onsite restaurant. It has around thirty rooms available from garden bungalows to various ocean view rooms, as well as some more luxurious suites.

Another good choice that's away from the crowds of Alona Beach is the eco friendly Momo Beach Resort located at Momo Beach. It's a boutique bed and breakfast with nicely decorated and comfortable rooms, a great swimming pool and a perfect beach front location. There's also an onsite restaurant with locally produced healthy and comfort food and many different packages available depending on what type of stay you're looking for.
