Duy Khanh Transport Ticket Prices & Bus Classes
One of the best things about bus travel is that you can almost tailor-make your trip adjusting it to your requirements for privacy and comfort. Different classes and types of buses cater to the different needs of travellers. The cheapest trips are normally offered by standard-class buses. They may be called local, express or ordinary. These are a good choice for shorter trips. Sleepers or VIP coaches are good both for longer and overnight trips. They may offer berths or wide soft reclining seats, sometimes with built-in massage options, blankets, soft drinks, and snacks, or more substantial meals on board or during toilet or refuelling stops. Travelling by night buses allows you to save on a hotel room, but to ensure the most comfortable ride do choose the class of your bus wisely. Prices always depend on the distance you ride and the type of coach. For some, even shorter trips, it is worth investing some extra money and buying a seat on a VIP bus as it can save you twice as much time as you spend travelling by an ordinary bus.

Pros of Bus Travel
- Bus is the best choice to get to destinations that are not connected by rail or planes. The network of buses often covers almost the whole country, and their routes are well and long-established.
- Opposite to air travel and sometimes rail travel, taking a bus does not require arriving at the bus station much in advance. Check-in, even on international routes, does not take much time. Luggage allowances are usually very traveller-friendly, and the fee for extra luggage, if limits are set, is normally not very high.
- Bus tickets can be more affordable compared to air or fast train tickets. There is always a choice of ticket classes for all pockets. Cheaper standard options may be a bit slow and do not offer top comfort, but anyway acceptable and bring you to your destination. On longer routes, toilets or toilet stops as well as snacks, water, and sometimes toiletries and blankets are almost always included in the price.
- If you are ready to spend more, some VIP coaches offer seating comparable to business class on a plane with wide soft reclining seats, blankets, fewer passengers, and many other perks to make your trip a pleasant journey.
Cons of Bus Travel
- Newer intercity bus terminals are very often located out of the city close to bigger highways to allow buses to avoid city congestion. Unfortunately, it may create extra challenges for travellers, too. Getting to such a terminal may be a problem as in some destinations there are restrictions on vehicles allowed to enter the terminal, and you will have to use special carriers to get there. This results in higher costs as prices may be inflated. Also do calculate extra time if you are travelling during rush hours, especially if you are not familiar with the traffic situation at your starting point.
- Buses are probably the means of transport which runs out of schedule more often than trains or planes. They are heavily dependent on the road situation which sometimes can be unpredictable – accidents, road construction works, detours, etc. This is especially true for travels during weekends, high season, or national holidays. Do keep this in mind and do not plan tight connections.
- Travelling on certain routes or during the most popular periods may require advanced booking. Bear in mind that it is not always possible to show up at the bus station and hop on the next bus – tickets may well be all sold out, so organize your trip accordingly.

LEANDRO AWe booked a service pick up at 12:00 and Driver arrived 12:42 to pick us up.
From 11:45 to 12:42 we tried several calls and just one time they answered informing that they will sent us the driver contact and registration of the van, the sent to us one minute before driver arrives.
Apart from the above, the driver did not know what our destination was and even called his company to argue with them. The organization on the company’s part was extremely poor.
We later made up for the lost time on the road, but at the cost of somewhat reckless driving, constantly overtaking other cars and asking them to move out of the way. He was in a great hurry, which turned out to be because he was only taking us to the city. Once there, without any prior notice, he asked everyone to get out and transfer to individual vehicles.
The private car journey was well organized. The driver drove properly and we arrived at the airport on time.

BARTLOMIEJ RThe transport ordered was a Van and it did not come, we were at the pickup place 40 min befor scheduled departure and they told us it will leave on time. then it occured it had a technical issue and there was no information about what is next…. at the end almost 1 h after scheduled departure they picked us up on a taxi to drive us to another pickup place where we were put into sleeper bus with no other option discussion. it was comfortable but not clean as we needed to take the places after the people who just got ot of it. we arrived in Da Nang 1.5h after scheduled arrival

Samuel WGuy in the office was rude and dismissive, then the bus arrived and the guy putting our bags on was also rude and lobbed them in like our bags had insulted his family, then took off half hour late. The lying down cabins are relatively comfy, one stained and questionable 'drips' stuck to the leather - clearly not cleaned between journeys - and not adjustable at all. Driver was the worst of all, super rude, even physically pushing me back when we tried to get off for a wee (we were inexplicably stopped for 20 minutes anyway with no notice, no one got on or off and there was a cafe immediately next to us). Got told we'd stop in 20 mins, then stopped again, most of us tried ask to go to the toilet as there's none on the bus and we're 4-4.5 hrs in at this point. (I want to note that these two stops were to pick up 'personal' packages to deliver, not passengers). Told again no, quite aggressively, and had to wait 5 minutes just for him to pull into a stop basically the same as the other two. That was the only stop for the whole 7.5 hr journey. There isn't much upon which to base a recommendation for this company, aside from having a cabin on your own. By the end this didnt really outweigh the rest of the experience.

After the break the driver was in a rush, drove very fast and used the horn permanently. The cabin was good. Plenty of room.

We got picked up right on time by a van who took us outside of the city centre to get on the bus. Both drivers were excellent, and everything went smooth.

Marcus MIt was fine, bus an hour late, but made up for some of that time. No toilet on board which every other cabin one I’ve done at same price point or lower has. Cabin as the other trips I’ve done, a good way to travel. Aircon v cold, I forgot to get my jumper out of hold luggage.

Ella SIt was a comfortable journey and the cabin beds were spacious with a cosy blanket included. The only thing I’d say is I wish they stopped more regularly to use the toilet but overall a smooth comfortable journey.

Jason LThe bus was comfortable and there was a good amount of stops for snacks and toilet breaks but bugs dropping down after you open the window blind isn’t really great for a comfortable sleep.

Gabriela CThe bus was okay, but they stop at every 30 min to drop off or pick up boxes, very weird. Wouldn't stop talking and honking. For night bus, you couldn't really sleep.

Carina BSleep was out of the question on this journey. The driving style didn't allow for it. We arrived at 5:30 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. as planned! The staff were friendly, the toilets at the stops were clean, and care was taken to ensure that everyone came along.

Leonardo FWe left 30 minutes later, but arrived on time, so all good with that. The beds were comfy and got to sleep well. Unfortunately, for some reason they were not using the bus luggage compartments so all bags were kept inside empty cabins and, for some of the trip, on the corridor, because there was not a lot of space for them we had to keep over half of our bags on the bed with us which kind of took away that nice comfort the bed had, important to acknowledge they found a solution to a problem they had but it was the first time we saw that and it influenced the experience. Otherwise the trip was good until around 5/6 am the next day getting close to our destination when the driver (probably trying to arrive as soon as possible) kept buzzing vehicles on the road (to overtake them) for 20 minutes or so which made it impossible to sleep for that time.

Matthew TThree different vehicles, inexplicably made a stop 15 mins outside of drop off point in old quarter to transfer to smaller vehicle that never arrived. We had to get a grab instead. Advise another operator.

David GStaff seemed totally disinterested in providing any of customer service we were dropped off at a major intersection in Haiphong in the dark with the only information by”wait here” a car did arrive about 20 minutes later to take us to the ferry for Cat ba but I think it would of been a bad experience for someone a little nervous of travelling in Asia perhaps a clear itinerary when booking would be a good idea
