Esteban TI would like to formally report a very unpleasant experience with a staff member on the train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok on Friday, March 13 at 17:05. My partner and I had seats 25 and 27.
When we boarded the train, we were unsure where exactly our seats were located. There was a staff member who appeared to be responsible for our carriage, so we politely asked him for help. Unfortunately, from the beginning he responded with a very rude and dismissive attitude. Communication was difficult because he did not speak any English, but instead of making any effort to help or clarify, he simply pointed at one of the berths.
Based on that gesture, we assumed those were our assigned seats. We also asked if he could please prepare the beds, which he did for the upper and lower berths. My partner and I were sitting on the lower berth talking when I briefly stepped out to ask him where we could buy food on the train.
Instead of answering my question, he suddenly started shouting at me in Thai in a very aggressive way. I could not understand what he was saying. He then walked away and returned about two minutes later, abruptly opened the curtains of the berth, demanded to see our tickets, and spoke to us in a hostile and confrontational tone.
He then pointed at a different berth and indicated that we were in the wrong seats. The way he handled the situation was unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful. We immediately moved to the seats he pointed to, which had not even been prepared as beds yet. He opened the upper berth but deliberately left everything messy and unfinished. It was clear he intentionally left the work incomplete and simply walked away after looking at us with clear frustration.
I want to be clear that I have absolutely no problem preparing the bed myself if needed. However, the way we were treated was unacceptable. From the beginning we were polite, respectful, and simply confused about where to sit because we are tourists unfamiliar with the train layout and there was a language barrier.
Staff responsible for assisting passengers should show basic courtesy and professionalism, especially when dealing with international travelers who may need guidance. This experience unfortunately left us feeling very uncomfortable during what should have been a pleasant train journey.

Alex GPretty happy with service. Ran smoothly and left on time. Arrived a bit later than expected but can't do much about traffic and road conditions. The comfort shuttle was nice, seats were roomy and comfortable and the AC worked pretty well. All in all would use the service again happily.

Marina CThe headrest was uncomfortable, making it impossible to sit properly (neck pain). The driver used her phone throughout the entire journey (calls and voicemails). She didn't understand the request for a stop and, more importantly, didn't ask again to clarify.

Dean MThe seats weren't comfortable at all and there was a real lack of communication from the operator of the service. Many people had to ask which bus was theirs and there was lots of confusion (by both staff and customers) about who should be on the bus. Understandably, the bus driver di not speak English so lot of people spent the whole journey not confident that they were going to end up where they needed to be. In true Thai style though, we did end up exactly where we were expecting. TIP: Mo Chit bus terminal is about a 25 minute walk to the BTS station so factor that in if you need to get somewhere at a certain time.

Rue BAn interesting trip, I put filters on for air conditioning and WiFi just to see what would pop up. So a minibus appeared at the same cost as a normal one and I booked that. Now this is where things get interesting. I got to the pick-up point 45 minutes early to be told the driver was here waiting. After ten minutes he came over and asked if I was ready to go. I said I was but we needed to wait for the other passengers. YOU ARE THE ONLY PASSENGER SIR. Another minibus was also waiting to go with maybe 10 passengers crammed in. So the original booked journey was 9.30 to 13.30. we left at 9. I chose to ride shotgun. JUST AFTER 11.30 we arrived in Bangkok. Just a fiver minute stop along the way for a loo break. Nearly new minibus, great driver. I didn't check the WiFi but I guess it was there. So all in all an amazing service that arrived two hours early. I may just have been lucky but do your search, then add WiFi and Aircon filters and if the same price comes up then book it.
