I would recommend that 12go indicate the exact departure station and time on the ticket. I booked a ticket from Hua Hin station for 6:40 am but my ticket read 5:12 am.5:12 am was departure time from the 1st station and not Hua hin station. It was confusing to me and I had to leave my hotel so early.I contacted 12 Go but I didn't get a clear answer. I got the answer at the station.

We booked a bus that was listed as a 14 seater. I always choose 12 or 14 seaters as they have more legroom than the 20 seaters and at 6ft3 I need it. When the bus arrived it was the 20 seaters and was fully booked. Not only did I find myself in a crowded bus with nowhere to put my legs, we found there was nowhere for our luggage. We questioned the driver and was met with a reply of "why didn't you just book extra seats". Not at all happy with this attitude. Combine that with a driver not wearing his seatbelt and holding a mobile phone to his ear while driving and it was really not a great 4 hour travelling experience for me, or my partner who couldn't even fit in a seat properly due to me needing to sit at an angle to fit my legs. Not a fantastic experience and we won't be travelling with this company again.

Left on time but stopped 40 minutes after leaving for a toilet stop that no one on the bus needed. The driver clearly wanted to stop for refreshments and a smoke (even though he had been sitting in the van for an hour before we left). The stop was supposed to be 10 minutes but was more like 25. Drove erratically- often driving down the hard shoulder during terrible weather conditions. Arrived over an hour late despite there being no communication to update us during the journey. Got dumped Ona very busy road at the BTS station - didn’t even pull into the curb! Dreadful.

The driver was very friendly. We had a small toiletbreak in between. We were happy though that we took some medicine against nausea, however we arrived safe and happy.

Our driver was courteous and a safe driver. Vehicle was comfortable, and we stopped midway for a 5 minute toilet break at a service station. We arrived at our destination after 3 hours and 30 minutes which was a bonus. We would use this service again.

Our driver was on time, but said nothing and made no attempt to confirm he was our driver or our end location. He drove fine for the first half of our journey. After stopping for petrol he began driving aggressively and rushing - switching lanes erratically and driving up other cars backs at high speeds. When we asked him to slow down he said he has to get back to Hua Hin after he drops is off which isn't really our issue as he's accepted this fare. He then continued driving the same way so we asked him to drive safely again, then he used his phone to photograph his speedometer and tried to show this to us to prove he was driving at the speed limit which wasn't the issue - it was the moves he was making to overtake in a rush - and we also wanted him to focus on the road, not his phone. We arrived at our destination, he didn't even attempt to help us with our luggage and drive off as soon as he could. Based on this experience, I won't use this companies service again. This driver made us feel unsafe and made no attempt to change how he drove after we flagged this. His only concern was how soon he could get home.

Train

Train is a often a great choice for long-haul travel especially if you opt for a night sleeper train with berths which will allow you to sleep all your journey through. To make the most of your train journey, choose the class of your ticket wisely.

Note that there are air-conditioned and fan-only carriages; private compartments for 2 or 4; hard and soft seats.
Though the upper class you get the smoother is your journey, often second class air-conditioned or fan-only sleepers are a good money saving alternative.

Van

Vans are a great alternative - or, in many cases - your only option - if you need to travel overland within one and the same province or neighbouring provinces or states. Vans ply the roads between Hua Hin and Bangkok, too.

Things to remember: When travelling by van with huge luggage buying a separate seat for your suitcase or backpack is a good idea. Do not expect there is a roomy luggage compartment in a van - there is actually none and your fellow passengers are unlikely to appreciate your luggage stuck under their feet, alas.
