The train should be upgraded, specially the toilets. And there should be less lights in the sleeping cabin.

AVOID The Operator was late One of the staff members was super rude to everyone on board, shouting at us as if we were inconveniencing him by asking questions. He didn't tell me what seat I was meant to be in and when I found him and asked he looked at me as if I was a complete idiot and then proceeded to get on the bus and punched the seat I was put on. There was also another couple on our trip that had 2 big rucksacks and 2 small bags which is what is in the luggage allowance, and shouted at them to put their small bags in the luggage storage, when they asked why he just kept shouting "NO" and not giving any reason. During the trip I texted the hotline on 2 separate occasions, one was to see where the bus was as it was half hour late, the other was to ask if/when we would be having a stop. I still have not received a reply and I've been of the bus for over 12 hours. There was also another staff member that seemed like he didn't know how to react to the very rude guy. But didn't do anything about this.

Loved the way to travel. Sleeper compartment offers more space than Airline business class 😉 Linnen was clean and blanket sufficient. Bring ear plugs and a sleeping mask. Food in the Restaurant was nice- a bit pricier of cause but what do you expect?

On time, comfortable bus, food voucher included. Minus that we got woken up at 2am for the food, would be nice to know in advance so we could decide for ourselves if we wanted to get out to eat

The information given was incorrect. I was expected to arrive at 9:30 AM but arrived at 5 AM instead to the driver telling at all the foreigners left on the bus to get off. I was very confused and didn't even know we had shady arrived to Bangkok. The lady on the bus who is supposed to advise everyone (including foreigners) ahead of time did not. She also did not advise us when it was time for the free lunch and bathroom break. Please hire more PROPER English speakers. We deserve to know, too.

Is it cheaper to retire in Chiang Mai or Bangkok?

Retiring in Chiang Mai is generally more affordable than in Bangkok. Chiang Mai's cost of living is lower, with monthly expenses for a modest lifestyle ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 THB ($850 to $1,400). Accommodation, food, and transportation are more budget-friendly. In contrast, Bangkok's cost of living is higher, with expenses typically between 50,000 to 80,000 THB ($1,400 to $2,200) per month, largely due to pricier housing and dining options.

Chiang Mai offers a relaxed lifestyle with easy access to nature, while Bangkok provides more urban conveniences and amenities. Both cities have modern healthcare facilities, but Bangkok's are more extensive. Consider lifestyle preferences and budget when making a decision.

Can you walk in Bangkok?

Walking in Bangkok is possible, but it can be challenging due to the city's bustling traffic and uneven sidewalks. Pedestrian crossings are not always respected, so exercise caution when crossing streets.

For exploring specific areas, such as the historic Rattanakosin Island, walking is a good option to see attractions like the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. In shopping areas like Siam Square, wide pavements make walking easier.

Keep in mind that Bangkok's hot and humid climate can make long walks uncomfortable, so carry water and wear sunscreen. Public transportation, such as the BTS Skytrain or MRT, is recommended for longer distances.

Tap water in Bangkok is not safe to drink; use bottled water.

Do you need jabs to go to Bangkok?

Vaccinations are generally recommended for travelers visiting Bangkok. It is advisable to have routine vaccinations up to date, such as measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis, and influenza. Additionally, vaccines for hepatitis A and B, typhoid, and Japanese encephalitis might be recommended depending on your travel plans and duration of stay. Rabies vaccination is suggested for extended stays or if you plan to be in close contact with animals.

Consult a healthcare professional ideally 4-6 weeks before your trip for personalized advice. Note that tap water in Bangkok is not recommended for drinking; opt for bottled water to avoid health issues.
