Everything was fine. Good value for money. We had only one transfer (from Surat Thani to ferry) during our trip from Bangkok to Koh Phangan. Bus from Bangkok was comfortable enough. But it was cold as usual) So, prepare warm clothes)

Overnight bus from Bangkok was fine, although no air con, WiFi or electric points as advertised. At 5am we were dropped at a point but not told why or the plan. At 6am we were spilt into groups and put in taxis. We were then transferred to 4 other taxis between 6am and 7am at different points of the city before finally being brought to the port at 7:55am, ferry departed 8am.

Friendly, fast and uncomplicated. Just sometimes need to wait what’s going on. But would do it again. Very cold at the bus. Small seats on the left side of the bus.

Overall, everything was fine. There was plenty of space and water/snacks in the "VIP bus". The toilet was not so nice. The bus drove to a small rest area near Surat Thani. I waited there for just under an hour and from there took a smaller van to Donsak Pier and from there took the ferry to Koh Phangan. The communication about when to wait where and for how long was ok.

Lovely experience. The whole process went smoothly from check in to arrival. Lovely service aboard the night bus and everything ran on time. The VIP bus was really comfortable with pillow and blanket and managed to sleep really well and arrived at our destination on time with no problems. Highly recommend.

Taxi
Some travellers consider taxi to be the most convenient form of overland transport thanks to flexible departure times, a possibility to choose the size of the car you need, and a hassle-free door-to-door service.
Things to remember: If you are planning to make detours during your trip, discuss it with your driver or service provider in advance as it may affect the price.

Van
Vans are a great alternative - or, in many cases - your only option - if you need to travel overland within one and the same province or neighbouring provinces or states. Vans ply the roads between Bangkok and Koh Phangan, too.
Things to remember: When travelling by van with huge luggage buying a separate seat for your suitcase or backpack is a good idea. Do not expect there is a roomy luggage compartment in a van - there is actually none and your fellow passengers are unlikely to appreciate your luggage stuck under their feet, alas.
