Pagudpud Hotels, Guesthouses and Resorts
Although still relatively underdeveloped compared to the more popular resort towns in the country, Pagudpud has seen an increase in accommodation options in recent years.
One thing that's worth noting here though is the stark difference in rates during different times of the year. Off-peak to peak season rates can vary by as much as PHP1000 and even more during the Holy Week period. Also, the best digs get booked out really fast so plan ahead and make your reservation months in advance.
Budget
Good news for backpackers and budget travellers, a lot of the locals have opened their homes to accommodate the influx of tourists all year round. Many of these homestays are located near Saud Municipal beach and the blue lagoon so you don't have to pay top dollar for a prime location.
In fact, it is possible to score a room for as low as PHP230 per person. For a minimal fee, you get the permission to use their kitchen if you wish to do your own cooking. Popular homestays that are situated right at the scenic Saud Beach are Cathy's Homestay, Rafol's Homestay, Pagudpud Curammeng Homestay, Garrison Homestay, Pearls Transient Villa, and Hannah Lou Homestay. For those who wish to stay close to the Blue Lagoon or Maira-Ira Point, consider Wally's World Surf Homestay and Arnolds Blue Lagoon Homestay.
We also recommend Natsuca Beach Resort (Sitio Aprot, Caparispisan) where you can get a room that can accommodate 4 people for only PHP902 or a dormitory style room good for 12 pax for just PHP6500. It's a bit of a walk away from Saud Beach but the place is clean, peaceful, and also pet friendly. There's no onsite restaurant but there's a guest kitchen if you brought your own supplies.
Mid-Range
Casa Consuelo (Blue Lagoon, Sitio Baniaran, Brgy. Balaoi) comes highly recommended in this category as it offers a double occupancy room for about PHP2200 to PHP2500. Everything about it is conducive to rest and relaxation and although it's a bit far from the nicer parts of the beach, it makes up for that with a lovely infinity pool. We loved the hot and cold shower, the lounge room where board games are available, and the fact that they have their own restaurant. Overall, we were happy with the service and wished we could have extended our stay.
Evangeline Beach Resort (Brgy. Burayoc, Saud Cove) comes a close second and what's good about it is that they have suites, cottages, and villas that can accommodate from 2 to 18 people. Rates start from PHP2200 to PHP13000 (off peak) and PHP3100 to PHP19000 (peak). The atmosphere there is very laid back and the whole place is a lot less crowded compared to more popular hotels. We also liked their beachfront restaurant where you can enjoy your meal while watching the most sublime sunsets and sunrises ever. Plus, food was consistently delicious.
Top End
Kingfisher Resort (Sitio Aprot Brgy Caparispisan) have rooms available from PHP2000 to PHP15000. This is where you stay if you wish to indulge in various water sports activities such as kayaking, snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding, kite surfing, and wind surfing. The best thing we liked about it is that they have everything you might possibly need – motorbike rental, spa, tour packages, transportation arrangements, and other social activities.
Kapuluan Vista Resort (Sitio Baniaran, Barangay Balaoi) was also a real pleasure to stay at. We loved its secluded location as it’s away from the chaotic beach. They have an organic garden which was a delight for us city girls and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We were especially happy to know that they have happy hour and in fact, they welcomed us with complimentary glass of margarita! We surely will not hesitate going back some other time.
