AirAsia to Temporarily Hibernate Fleet

AirAsia Group is temporarily hibernating most of its fleet across the network in a bid to stop spreading the COVID-19 pandemic. This hibernation concerns flights performed by the AirAsia Group's fleet in Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and India.

To support curbing the spread of the virus in order to keep flying safe for everyone and following extensive and increasing border restrictions imposed by various countries which have made regional air travel almost impossible, AirAsia has taken a decision to temporarily suspend flights within its domestic, regional and international network.

Flights in different countries will be suspended for the following periods:

Malaysia – all domestic and international flights till April 21; suspension of most long-haul flights till May 31.

Philippines – all domestic and international flights till April 14.

Thailand – all international flights till April 25; all domestic flights from April 1 till April 30; all long-haul flights from March 16 for three months.

Indonesia – all international flights till May 17; all domestic flights from April 1 till April 21.

India – all domestic flights from March, 25 for three weeks.

All affected guests can either convert their flight booking into a credit account valid for future redemption for 365 days or reschedule their flights for an unlimited number of times without any charges to another date prior to 31 October 2020.
