A popular sweet to try are the famous Boholano peanut kisses which are peanuts baked with eggs and plenty of sugar that are made to resemble the famous Chocolate Hills. These restaurants are budget friendly with some more mid range options on the menu.

Western and International Food
If you're looking for international or Western food you'll be spoilt for choice in resort areas, especially those in and around Alona beach. You can find everything from Korean and Japanese restaurants through to burger and pizza places, meaning there's something to please everyone. You'll tend to find that western options are usually a little more expensive, mainly because you'll find yourself eating at more touristy spots.
Expect to pay from PHP300 upwards for pizzas and pastas as an example. There are eateries lining the seafront in these resorts and therefore many to choose from.
One great foodie experience that includes everything from Filipino to Chinese to Western flavours is a river cruise on one of the floating restaurants in Loboc, in central Bohol. Prices vary from PHP200 to PHP400 depending on the quality you're looking for and it's easy to book online or as part of a tour. Food served is usually buffet style and includes all manner of international treats, and you'll also be serenaded with live music as you enjoy a cruise down the Loboc river.

A final food destination in Bohol is the Bohol Bee Farm and its Buzz Cafe which is located in Panglao on Alona Beach. Using organic produce and quality ingredients they serve a wide menu of international and Filipino favourites with many dishes including honey from the bee farm. They also have an extensive menu for drinks and coffees and it's a scenic location to enjoy a coffee overlooking the ocean. Don't forget to try an organic ice cream complete with gluten free cone!
