Udaipur is a star destination of Rajasthan and one of the most popular destinations in the whole India with hordes of travellers visiting the city on a daily bases. That means the demand for accommodation is high but so is the supply in all the price ranges and styles.

General information

Everything you could think of – from cafes and restaurants to souvenir shops – is within a walking distance.

Accommodation in Udaipur is usually provided in the form of hotel rooms. Budget hotels offer simple if not spartan facilities. Expect just a bed, clean linen, a TV, and a towel plus soap and toilet paper. Tea making facilities are hard to come across and there is no air-conditioning in the cheapest options. Yet the majority of rooms come with an attached bathroom as a standard; only few properties rely on shared bathrooms.

Prices for budget accommodation in Udaipur vary but normally start at around 400 INR for a non-ac room with a shared bathroom and 650 INR for non-ac room with an ensuit bathroom. Air-conditioned rooms obviously cost more with prices starting at around 1,200 INR per double room.

In recent years room rates in Udaipur have seen a considerable increase and you will probably find the general level of hotel prices slightly higher than in other parts of the country.
