Ao Nang to Bangkok Destination Reviews

The first bus was late but nobody told us anything just a lady at the beginning that did not give us any information, closed the store and left after the initial departure time. we waited for 40 mins without news and with no one at the pick up point. Then the second overnight bus was HORRIBLE, it stinked like pee for the whole time, the toilet was not working, the seats were extremely narrow and small, not to mention that it was stopping literally every hour turning the lights on, so it was impossible to sleep. No WiFi, no phon plugs, just a 10 hours nightmare. For the same price you can get a much better service. I definetly not reccomend

Very bad seats. Not even water bottle was provided. Do not go by the things mentioned in the amenities because none of them were provided, the charging points are broken, not even a water bottle was given you can forget about snacks and food. The seats were very uncomfortable. We couldn’t even stretch our legs. Forget about sleeping. Initially was taken to a place three hours away in a mini bus, then transfer to this So called bus. A very bad experience, wouldn’t suggest to anybody Keep your expectations low if you’re booking one.

The bus departed 2 hours left, we had little information regarding this, when asked we were told they were waiting on another bus coming however, a bus that had been sitting there the whole time we were waiting was used. The bus was listed as VIP with wifi, chargers etc, there was no wifi and the under seat chargers did not work. Driver was pretty grumpy too. Seats did recline right back and a blanket was provided. We arrived into Bangkok over 2 hours later than scheduled, thankfully made my next flight.

bus from Krabi to Bangkok: I booked ao nang transfer to bangkok khao San road and the description said that we will transfer to different van or bus in surat thani and that is actually what is happening. The same van which picked me up also took us from ao nang to surat thani. The van driver from ao nang to surat thani was playing English pop songs on a display screen TV so that was a good entertainment as I never get to watch videos of the songs I listen all the time. We reached surat thani stop at 7:06 PM starting from 4:00 PM at my pickup. Bus started moving at 8:10 PM from surat thani and they stared boarding around 7:50 pm ish. Seats full reclining as expected and 2+1 structure so spacious. No wifi or atleast no password given. Blankets given but nothing else. AC was not too cold initially and later it was manageable with the blanket they gave. Bus dropped us few minutes before 5:30 AM. Regarding pickup, be patient and someone will come to pick up at your hotel. I was getting nervous because my time was 3:30 pm in the ticket but I was picked up at 4:00 PM so I contacted the Bangkok bus travel's Whatsapp number (I just tried the number given in 12goAsia's ticket and it worked and they replied promptly). No water or snacks were given which was fine with me. The bus stopped around midnight for less than 20 minutes at a big food court kind of area with really good and clean posh bathrooms. There were also bathrooms and food options to buy during the transfer at surat thani.

Lots and lots of stops to pick up other customers. Arrived on time, drivers safe and comfortable, but takes about 3 hours longer than just driving straight there.

The driver arrived on time, drove courteously, and the bus was very clean. It was a VIP bus that brought me to the bus station just in time. The WhatsApp staff answered my questions well and kept me informed of the departure time in advance. Throughout my journey, I had a very pleasant experience.

They change pickup time without informing anyone. but I contacted them and they told me that they have delay so I should wait to 4PM. Even at that time no one showed up I tried to concated them again but no onr answer anymore. I have to be in Bangkok before 8AM next day but no more bus so I had to book a flight and after almost 3hours from normal pickup they called me but i already bought a flight ticket 🙃. So far this is the worst operator I have seen. Also i contacted customer service after sending them the screenshot of our discussion they told me they will check with the operator then respond to me but no one responded 🙃

big comfortable bus. I have no complaints. Everything was within the normal range. There is a transfer in Surat Thani. If you are coming from Bangkok and continuing to Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi, etc. you will have to be transferred to a minibus. The procedure is the same if you are coming from some of the mentioned resorts. The departure is by minibus, after which you will be transferred to Surat Thani on the big bus. I am satisfied with the Travel plus trip.

Travelling by bus essentials

  • If you are planning to travel during the high season, weekends, or national holidays, booking your bus tickets in advance is highly recommended. The demand is at its highest, yet very often, the number of coaches serving the route remains the same. The earlier you reserve your seat, the better. On some routes, you need to secure your ticket more than a month in advance; on others, a couple-of-days advanced booking is enough. During such periods, try to book online beforehand whenever possible, as showing up at the bus station without a ticket may result in many-hours of waiting in the queue or leave you downright stranded.
  • VIP, 1st, Gold, and similar bus tickets are the most expensive option, but they provide a higher level of comfort. Normally the price of such tickets will include wide soft reclining seats, blankets, water and snacks or lunch, and sometimes some toiletries. Upper-class buses travel faster, make fewer stops during the route, and normally provide more spacious seating to their passengers and a better travel experience.
  • Not all buses have an on-board toilet, but generally, for all trips longer than three hours, all operators schedule a bathroom and/or a lunch stop. While operators definitely do their best to keep on-board toilets clean, the smell may be an issue sometimes. For longer trips, booking a seat a bit farther from the toilet may be a good idea. Also, using bathroom stops for your toilet needs is always better than trying to find your balance in an on-board toilet on the run.
  • If you travel by an air-con bus, make sure to pack layers. A hoodie, a warm scarf, or a beanie hat may prove a good idea. Air-conditioning on buses tends to be excessive, and running nose and sore throats abound after even not the longest bus rides.
  • Always use the security belts even if your bus ride attendant or driver does not insist on it. Your safety comes first – for you, for sure. All buses normally are equipped with security belts, but they may be fixed behind your seat. Take time to find the belt and fix it appropriately.
  • To avoid being disturbed by overhead lights, switched on during stops even at night, and too loud music or sound from the on-board entertainment system, have earplugs and a sleeping mask at hand.
  • As a courtesy to other passengers, avoid using strong perfumes or smelly foods. Some foods like cheeses or durians are forbidden to take on-board – check in advance. Alcohol is also prohibited on the majority of buses.
  • Note that if the bus requires refuelling en-route, passengers will be asked to get off the bus. Operators are not allowed to refuel with passengers on board due to safety reasons. Usually, it takes from 5 to 10 minutes and is often combined with a toilet/lunch stop.
  • If not stated otherwise in your tickets, arrive at the bus station 20-30 minutes before departure. It will give you enough time to find the departure platform and check-in. For international trips, you may need more time for check-in and border formalities.
