The journey itself exceeded my expectations: van from Ao Nang to Surat Thani was comfortable and took two hours. Transfer in Surat Thani was very quick. The bus from Surat Thani to Bangkok was excellent: comfortable seats that reclined, USB-outlets, toilet onboard, curtains for windows. The driver drove well and softly. We did one 30 minute stop for food and snacks at midnight. We arrived at Khao San exactly on time.
However! The van left one hour late - and from the wrong McDonald's in Ao Nang! On the ticket it was clear that it was the McDonald's at the beach, but in reality it was the McDonald's up on the road. Not good! I called the hotline and the van had to turn around to pick me up, so everything worked out well. But still!

the most cramped bus we've ever taken.
Just the first Van that pick up us at the mcdonalds was nice, the driver very helpful (that is why the 2 stars).
After the vehicle transfer in Surat Thani, there was no longer any space between the seats.

They make me sit on the bus next to a very large person who was taking half of my seat and there were no more seats available. Horrible experience

Great communication, most confortable sleeper bus I have travelled in. Just note the smaller van start from Ao Nang is hot and night bus for the rest of the drip is freezing. Dress accordongly and bring earplugs, there's always someone snooring. Bus leaving from Macdonals seems to be late every time, ours left 4:30pm, in Bangkok just before 6am. Great value!

Van pickup was late 40minutes. It's not a problem if there was a shade where to wait but pickup point is just on the street, plus it's said that passenger must be there 30min before so not very nice to stand in the sun over an hour.. Van also didn't have any ac it was no air movement in there.. Otherwise the bus was okay and reached on time. But the pickup could be organized a lot better

Driver turned up 2 hours late so was waiting a long time in direct sun no shade. No one answered the hotline and 12go support. Driver rushed to big bus stop on no fuel and went to the wrong place twice. The overnight bus driver was better as we were given blankets snacks and water but more uncomfortable seats than I thought it would be. Overnight bus was also delayed setting off.
The information says to arrive at 2:30 for a 3:00 pickup, we were not picked up until 4:30.
We were jammed into a small van, which we rode for an hour. We sat four across because the worker squeezed in with us.
The driver yelled at us.
Once we got on the big bus around 8:00pm, it was fine.

There was the wrong time to arrive to Bkk- instead od 6 am you put 12:30 am so made me to book the hotel for night which I could use. They take you by bus to Surat Thani and then change the bus. It's good to inform the client before about it. The vip bus to BKK was pretty good to sleep the whole night.
