Over Lanta Transport
De twee belangrijkste zaken die reizen met een busje zo aantrekkelijk maken zijn een ruime keuze aan bestemmingen en betaalbare prijzen. Niet alle busjes bieden topcomfort, voldoende beenruimte of bagageruimte, maar deze twee punten compenseren dat wel. Bovendien zijn het altijd minibusjes die nieuwe routes naar opkomende bestemmingen lanceren en zo nodig de weg vrijmaken voor grote busondernemingen of het enige vervoermiddel blijven om je daar te brengen. Busjes bieden vaak een snellere service dan grote bussen, een flexibelere dienstregeling en passen zich gemakkelijker aan de behoeften van de reizigers aan wat betreft de dienstregeling - als de vraag tijdelijk toeneemt door lange weekends of nationale feestdagen, voegen exploitanten van minibusjes gemakkelijker dan andere exploitanten meer voertuigen toe aan hun dagelijkse vloot. Merk echter op dat minibusjes soms opereren vanuit hun eigen terminals of een speciale plek hebben in grotere busterminals. Controleer altijd het vertrek- en aankomstpunt van je busje, want het bevindt zich niet noodzakelijkerwijs in het hoofdbusstation.

Lanta Transport Ticketprijzen & klassen
In tegenstelling tot treinen of grotere bussen kan je bij busjes zelden kiezen uit verschillende ticketklassen. Alle zitplaatsen zijn hetzelfde - noem het standaard, VIP of wat dan ook. Wat wel kan verschillen is het type busje zelf. Sommige busjes bieden slechts plaats aan 9-10 passagiers. Voor reizigers betekent dit bredere stoelen, meer ruimte en een comfortabelere reis. Minibusjes voor maximaal 15 passagiers zijn ook goed, maar wees bereid om beenruimte op te offeren en vaak ook ruimte voor je baggage. Soms kan het een goed idee zijn om twee stoelen in plaats van één te kopen voor een comfortabelere rit - maar het loont de moeite om bij de exploitant na te gaan of dit op je route is toegestaan. Reizen met een minibusje: Voor- en nadelen
Voordelen van minibusjes
- Busjes kunnen de enige manier zijn om sommige van de meest afgelegen bestemmingen te bereiken, kleinere steden of dorpen die niet verbonden zijn met grote bussen of treinen.
- Busjes kunnen je ook naar sommige eilanden brengen die met het vasteland verbonden zijn door grote autoveerboten die door grote bussen niet kunnen worden gebruikt.
- Omdat busjes kleiner zijn dan grote bussen, zijn busjes wendbaarder op de weg. Dit resulteert soms in een kortere reistijd, vooral als je bestemming niet ver weg is.
- Hoewel busjes onderweg een officiële halte hebben, kunnen ze je ook op een meer geschikte plaats laten uitstappen - je hoeft niet naar de terminal te gaan, vraag het gewoon aan je chauffeur. Merk op dat het niet altijd mogelijk is, maar in veel gevallen zullen ze meewerken. Het kan je zowel tijd als geld besparen die je anders te voet of per taxi van de terminal zou hebben besteed.
Nadelen van minibusjes
- Busjes met meer passagiers kunnen behoorlijk krap aanvoelen. Verwacht beperkte ruimte voor je benen en ellebogen. Sommige busjes beperken de bagage voor één ticket tot één stuk. Als je meer tassen, koffers of rugzakken hebt, kan je gevraagd worden een apart ticket te kopen voor je bagage, waardoor de reis twee keer zo duur wordt.
- Niet alle busjes rijden op schema. Op bepaalde routes vertrekken de busjes alleen als ze vol zijn. Vraag dit na bij je vervoerder voordat je je ticket koopt, anders kan je veel langer dan verwacht moeten wachten tot het busje vol is.
- Niet elke chauffeur houdt zich aan de verkeersregels. Sommige bedrijven installeren snelheidscontrole-eenheden op hun voertuigen, maar het komt niet zelden voor dat dit apparaat de hele rit piept terwijl de bestuurder er niet op let. Vergeet niet je veiligheidsgordel om te doen als je met een busje reist. Houd er wel rekening mee dat je soms goed moet zoeken om de veiligheidsgordel te vinden.
- Voor wie gevoelig is voor reisziekte is er een goed advies: neem je medicijnen een half uur voor je reis met een minibusje in, vooral als je route bochtige stukken omvat. In een busje is de kans groter dat je je reisziek voelt dan in een bus.

Denis PThere might be a mistake in the schedule; this ticket includes a bus and ferry and takes ~3.5 hours total, not 2 hours.
Also, for some reason, the check-in at Trang took 25 minutes (even though there was nobody in line); inexplicably, the ticket clerk could not issue a ticket until 5 minutes before the bus departed.

Mark HGood people but my scheduled 0900 minivan did not show so I had to wait for the 1000 minivan. The driver stacked boxes in front of me so my legroom was limited. We arrived in Surat Thani 50 minutes late for a 1000 minivan so I got there 110 minutes after I was told to expect for my scheduled 0900 trip.
Driver was courteous and drove carefully.
Not a great trip but not a terrible one either.

Laura NWhen I arrived at the terminal in Trang, the lady tried to scam me into paying her a high sum for a taxi to my hotel once we arrived on the island, saying it was inaccessible due to a cave next to it…totally false. Then, the 2hr trip was easily 3 hrs due to frequent stops to pick up and drop various people and supplies, aircon didn’t work and the unfriendly driver wouldn’t let us open windows. Just a poor experience overall. We arrived and no one died, so I guess that’s something to be grateful for.

Dimitra NThe minibuses were extremely crammed and very uncomfortable but more importantly, the driving was really erratic and felt unsafe.
There was no communication at all regarding the stops and connections, they just said "wait here". Here, where exactly? For how long, and for what? I understand people may not speak English, but they could have prepared a written note, for example.
We reached the final destination 2 hours after the estimated time. At this point I feel lucky that I arrived at all.

It doesn't matter what you agreed on. In there therms they said they can change anything, so instead of a minivan they put you on local bus. And instead of a speedboat they puth you on a cargo... Really bad experience!! A local bus is no problem, but it is if you paid for more...
They overbooked the chairs, so big kid had to sit at the woman next to me. She puked 3 times next to me...
I travelled a lot in Asia, so ofcourse I know things can turn out a little bit differently. But this was really a scam. Don't book here!!

Steven GThe UBS was broken but the bus was quite comfortable. My main issue was that we arrived about an hour late, not because of traffic but because the driver was driving around picking up packages and delivering them. Why not pick the packages up before collecting the passengers.
That said, he seemed to drive safely and it was a smooth journey.
