Just a heads up if you’re going from Koh Samui to Surat Thani. The Lomprayah ferry stops at Donsak pier. You can get a cab from there. Or if you selected Tapee pier then you travel by bus from Donsak.

This worked out well in the end, although info was slightly lacking in the middle. Tips are : A half hour check in is not necessary, we ended up on an earlier boat through turning up 40 minutes early. The boat takes 1.5h, the bus is scheduled to leave 15 minutes after the boat arrives, they had our names at the bus station so probably would have waited a bit. The bus that stops at the train station is the airport bus, not the town bus

I was picked up from lamai beach (although the listing doesn't say they pickup from lamai, they do - confirmed via their whatsapp). And the arrival tome was on spot. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for budget effective option

I did not understand that we had to get out at Nathon pier en go by bus. When we got to tapee pier no taxi’s there

The trip was ok, as expected. However, we did not arrived at the agreed pier, instead they dropped us at a close pier and then transferred us to a bus. The bus was good, with better aircon than the boat, but we were not expecting the change and it was confusing.
