⭐ Very disappointing experience. We arrived at our destination 1 hour and 40 minutes late, which caused us problems with our travel schedule and forced us to change our plans. During the journey, we were also left at a roadside restaurant for lunch and were rushed to order without being shown any prices. We ordered one small chicken dish, one portion of rice and one Coke, and were charged 400,000 VND. Knowing the usual prices in Vietnam, this seemed completely excessive and felt like a tourist scam. The bus driver’s attitude was also extremely disrespectful. This was not just a one-time incident: every time we asked him something, he responded rudely and made dismissive hand gestures. During the lunch stop, he also looked at us and laughed with the other drivers. We felt very uncomfortable and disrespected throughout the journey. We contacted the company directly to explain what had happened before leaving a negative review, hoping they would take responsibility and offer a solution. They did respond to our complaint, but unfortunately, they did nothing to resolve the situation or offer any compensation or solution. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and far below the level of service we expected from a professional company. We would not recommend this service.

We couldn't sleep because bus was shaking too much. Plus one seat couldn't bend totally meaning you were half up and one seat had problem with air conditioner so it was freezing

The journey departed on time, although the trip to Sapa took longer than advertised. Overall, it was a comfortable, clean, and safe ride, and the staff were kind, courteous, and helpful throughout. There are, however, a few areas for improvement. Wi-Fi would be a welcome addition, the bathroom should have running water, and the blankets could be cleaner. The LCD entertainment screen was also not working during the journey. In addition, the ticket showed the wrong departure address in Hanoi, which caused unnecessary confusion. Despite these issues, the overall experience was positive, and with a few improvements, this would be an excellent transport service

Train

Train is a often a great choice for long-haul travel especially if you opt for a night sleeper train with berths which will allow you to sleep all your journey through. To make the most of your train journey, choose the class of your ticket wisely.

Note that there are air-conditioned and fan-only carriages; private compartments for 2 or 4; hard and soft seats.
Though the upper class you get the smoother is your journey, often second class air-conditioned or fan-only sleepers are a good money saving alternative.

Van

Vans are a great alternative - or, in many cases - your only option - if you need to travel overland within one and the same province or neighbouring provinces or states. Vans ply the roads between Hanoi and Sapa, too.

Things to remember: When travelling by van with huge luggage buying a separate seat for your suitcase or backpack is a good idea. Do not expect there is a roomy luggage compartment in a van - there is actually none and your fellow passengers are unlikely to appreciate your luggage stuck under their feet, alas.
