They tell you to come early but they themselves were late. So I was waiting for 1hr on a random street at dusk with no other people there. I had no communication from them and I had to reach out first to get answers, granted they did respond quickly. We arrived 1hr late which impacted my plan. The drive was comfortable but I have had better experiences with other companies

Curtains are old, dirty and no blanket for each cabin. Bus staffs are not friendly, seems they know english but unnecessarily shouted in their language to passengers. Suggested to improve the staffs ' communication skill.

Hanoi - Sapa sleeper bus with compartments. This was absolutely brilliant very clean, well organised, the driver was patient and drove safely. They organised a shuttle bus to our hotels for free on arrival which I wasn't expecting!

Train

Train is a often a great choice for long-haul travel especially if you opt for a night sleeper train with berths which will allow you to sleep all your journey through. To make the most of your train journey, choose the class of your ticket wisely.

Note that there are air-conditioned and fan-only carriages; private compartments for 2 or 4; hard and soft seats.
Though the upper class you get the smoother is your journey, often second class air-conditioned or fan-only sleepers are a good money saving alternative.

Van

Things to remember: When travelling by van with huge luggage buying a separate seat for your suitcase or backpack is a good idea. Do not expect there is a roomy luggage compartment in a van - there is actually none and your fellow passengers are unlikely to appreciate your luggage stuck under their feet, alas.
