Bangkok to Pattaya Destination Reviews

PR
We were late by 5 minutes and they did not let us hop inside the bus. Eventually we had to book another bus.

The car broke down halfway there, and we sat and waited for another car for 1.5 hours.

It was an excellent trip. The driver was very polite and right on time. Smooth ride from Bangkok to Pattaya, from accommodation to accommodation without any other stops or transfer, including the highway taxes. It's good for 2 hours drive for 4 people. The middle back seat is not flat so take that to consideration for longer trips. We were very satisfied overall.

Driver was shouting in Thai giving command and we don’t understand a single word. Drivers was not helpful at all.

Seamless experience, made trip in 2hours! Efficient and functional. Holistically, though requires a strong bladder. Bathroom sign said " no pee, no poop" Driver commanded that nobody speak, and there was a silent hush, only the whine of the wheels to be heard. Whispers and snores issued for rest of the ride. Don't expect overhead luggage bins or wide seating. Otherwise the destination is had and happiness will result.

The Bangkok Ekkamai main bus station itself seems to be undergoing some kind of renovation so all of the check-in counters were just workstation tables set up along the front of the terminal. It still did the job but I can't imagine how this flows in peak travel hours (I was there at 5:30am) or bad weather. The waiting areas at the bus platforms are small and there vendors but none were open that early in the morning. There is a 7-Eleven right on the corner so that helps. Boarding only started minutes before the bus was supposed to leave, and some how they managed to get a full bus of people on and settled into assigned seats and leave basically on time.

It was way too cold in the bus, the stewardess was informed a couple of times about the issue but did nothing to raise the temperature. Overall we are sick right now and will not recomend this operator to anyone.

Train

Train is a often a great choice for long-haul travel especially if you opt for a night sleeper train with berths which will allow you to sleep all your journey through. To make the most of your train journey, choose the class of your ticket wisely.

Note that there are air-conditioned and fan-only carriages; private compartments for 2 or 4; hard and soft seats.
Though the upper class you get the smoother is your journey, often second class air-conditioned or fan-only sleepers are a good money saving alternative.

Van

Vans are a great alternative - or, in many cases - your only option - if you need to travel overland within one and the same province or neighbouring provinces or states. Vans ply the roads between Bangkok and Pattaya, too.

Things to remember: When travelling by van with huge luggage buying a separate seat for your suitcase or backpack is a good idea. Do not expect there is a roomy luggage compartment in a van - there is actually none and your fellow passengers are unlikely to appreciate your luggage stuck under their feet, alas.
