Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai Destination Reviews

NK
The service with the bus was excellent but the information on how to find the bus station was terrible. I had to go over a tall bridge twice with heavy luggage
Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai, Bus Express, Cherdchai Tour, Nov 20, 2024
PS
Bus was dirty, smelly, small unhygienic toilet, nowhere to wash hands. Bus stopped letting passengers on and off throughout the night. Bus was overcrowded, seats very old, close together and uncomfortable. We made no pit stops to stretch our legs or use better toilet facilities. Needless to say, I could hardly get any sleep. I was just very relieved when it was over and I could finally exit the bus.

Train is old and bunks not very long (place below is just for me with my 1.86m) ; but generally speaking travel was on time, well organised and "fun". At the end we did liked it (we are a family with 2 children). Good experience

The location was not accurate, please correct it to avoid hassle, and have some posters as foreigners have no clue it's a stop.

Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai. The bus stop was hard to find. The coordinates '14,3351562, 100,6135060' that are shown when you book the trip, make you go to the wrong side of the road (which we learned from locals who helped us). That side is the road to Bangkok. The one nearest to the Citypark goes to Chiang Mai. Thus you actually have to wait on the side of the Lotus Citypark. And not even directly in front of it, but on a road in the middle of the 4 streets that are there. You have to walk (not fully cross) a bridge to get there. On that street are two huts, don't know how else to describe them, where you have to wait. --> These are better coordinates for Google Maps: 14,3347984, 100,6130431 The ride itself was decent. We didn't think the chicken burger we got was all that bad and we got a bottle of water as well. There was also a stop kind of halfway where you can get some food at a restaurant or go to a 7/11. Overall we had a good experience, just that we could've easily missed the bus makes this a 3 and not a 4 or even 5 star review for me.

Even though we had an 8-hour delay because there was an accident on the tracks ahead of us, the trip was fine by me. Everyone was friendly. Food and drinks were even provided (for free) due to the long delay. Disadvantage lights stay on and it is very cold in the train.
