Together, these four provinces have 528 km of pristine coastline dotted with 37 beaches, 10 bays and 25 islands; 25 national and water parks of diverse scale; 70 Royal projects and initiatives; and even 6 community-based eco-projects. Besides natural and community-based attractions, these provinces feature great golf courses, water and theme parks, huge shopping malls and offer numerous opportunities for canoeing, mountaneering, caving, biking and swimming.
Last year, a total of 14 million tourists, both Thai and foreign, visited the four provinces generating an income of over THB70 billion. Yet the numbers are on the rise and at least a 5% increase is predicted for 2018.
Not only respective provinces will benefit from the development of local tourist sector. Thanks to the ferry service launched between Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan province and Pattaya in Chonburi, the Eastern Seaboard becomes closer to the Thailand Riviera with travel time between the two shores of the Gulf of Siam cut to two and a half hours compared to five hours one needs if travelling overland.

News in AsiaTourism Authority of Thailand is going to promote three coastal provinces of the Gulf – Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon – as well as the Ranong province sitting on the Andaman Sea Coast under 'Thailand Riviera' plan.
