With Expedia Group Thai Hotels to Host More Foreign Guests

According to Expedia Group the hotel bookings on its websites prevail over other types of bookings which keeps pace with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s latest campaign ‘Open to the New Shades of Thailand’ which follows last year’s very successful ‘Amazing Thailand’.

Thanks to the new campaign travellers will get acquainted with arts and culture, beaches and wonderful nature of the country and with its cuisine.

Hoteliers can use the opportunity of aligning their properties with any of the programme themes. In the division Arts & Culture Chiang Rai and Sukhothai have given over 50 per cent growth in inbound demand. Tourists from Asia are more interested in the local customs, but European visitors tend to explore historical places.

Among beach destinations Pattaya heads the list showing growth of 40% while Phuket and Hua Hin follow with 20%.

Travellers have shown more interest in authentic Thai cuisine, both street food and fine-dining restaurants, which have shown growth, too.Expedia Group is a world travel company possessing the websites where one can book air tickets, hotel rooms, holiday packages and rent cars. Its headquarters is in Bellevue, Washington, but it is going to move to Seattle next year.
