Qatar Airways touches down at Utapao Pattaya  Airport

Sunday saw the inauguration of direct flights from the Middle East to Thailand’s eastern seaboard. Qatar Airways now operates four flights a week in each direction between Doha’s Hamad Airport and Utapao Pattaya  Airport. 

The first flight launched on Sunday the 28 January and now operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Doha. Departure time is 20:05 and arrival at Utapao is 06:30 the next morning. 

The return flights depart at 07:40 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive back in Doha at 11:40 the same morning. All times quoted are local.

Local dignitaries including Utapao Pattaya Airport’s director plus Qatar’s ambassador to Thailand were on hand to greet passengers alighting from Flight Number QR828 after the landing on Monday morning. Qatar Airways’s fifth direct route to Thailand was marked with a traditional salute from water cannons.

12GO ASIA says the new route complements the recent introduction of ones to Chiang Mai and Krabi. Qatar also flies to Phuket and Suvarnabhumi Airport in the capital city of Bangkok.
