Hong Kong cruise ship operator to launch cruises from Pattaya Port

A leading global cruise ship company has announced that one of its vessels will be based at Thailand’s Laem Chabang Port for the winter season of 2017. Star Cruises says the SuperStar Gemini will be offering short cruises from the Gulf of Thailand port from 17 December.

The two and three night cruises will take in ports-of-call around the gulf including the Thai island of Koh Samui and Cambodian ports at Sihanoukville and Koh Kong. Holidaymakers will have until the 27 April 2018 to board one of the cruises. Cruise industry experts say prices for the Gulf of Thailand cruises will range between THB8,900 and THB12,900.

Laem Chabang Port is just over 20kms from Pattaya Beach Road and 125kms from downtown Bangkok. 12GO ASIA offers reservations services for taxis, passenger vans and buses on routes around the north end of the Gulf of Thailand as well as for Pattaya-Hua Hin ferries.

Star Cruises is the third biggest global cruise liner company. Tourism industry firms in Thailand welcomed news the SuperStar Gemini will be home-porting in Thailand this year and noted that it was a sign of increasing demand for Southeast Asian passenger cruises.
