Wenzhou has a wide variety of accommodations, starting from cheap backpacker hotels through to massive high-end luxury hotels. If you’re there for sight-seeing or shopping, make sure you’re near the downtown area. Even in the trendier suburbs there are a number of affordable hotels, and it’s easy to get a great deal. It’s a popular city for business, so there are a large number of business hotels.

Many backpackers offer an upgrade option, where you get a private room and bathroom. As a general rule expect shared rooms, but with free WIFI and an aircon if you’re lucky. Here are two ones that we loved:
1. Yandangshan Youth Hostel
The best thing about this funky place is the location. It’s right next to Yandangshan Mountain Scenic Area! Also, nearby is South Yandang Mountain, and Dalong Waterfall. Although it’s a little more expensive than some other hostels, the facilities are really good, providing TVs, free WIFI and comfy beds. You also get private rooms! If you’d like to unwind after a hard day exploring, have a drink at the on-site bar.
