Important to know: I was told to go to Green Travel in Pakse for 7pm. When I arrived there, the place was shut and I was left on the curb in the dark, not knowing what was going on and unable to get in contact with Green Travel or 12Go Asia. However, a tuktuk driver will come and pick you up to take you to the bus station. This was not communicated to me, and I felt people should know that is going to happen so they don’t feel unsafe.
Not the fault of the company or driver, the road conditions are just insanely bumpy and when adding that to being squished next to a stranger not much sleep was achieved. It can’t be helped and is just a part of travelling.

That was the worst ride of my life!!!!!! No stops for 14 hours and the vehicle had pee smell and it was not comfortable to sleep with another person in a 1 person bed. That was poor.
Terrible organization, poor communication, and endless delays!
To begin with, we had to find out ourselves whether the pick-up location had changed. There was a big festival in Pakse, which meant that buses couldn’t reach the original pick-up point. However, nobody bothered to inform us. After several attempts to contact the company, we finally received confirmation that the pick-up location had indeed changed. The new location was a 10-minute drive outside the city, and we were simply expected to arrange our own transportation there…
When we finally arrived at the bus, they tried to put us in different sleeping spots than the ones we had booked. All the double beds (which we had specifically booked and paid for) were supposedly occupied, so they expected us to sleep in the back with five other people. However, when more passengers arrived, we noticed that some double beds were actually still available, so we eventually decided to take one ourselves.
Once we finally departed, nobody informed us that the bus wouldn’t stop for toilet breaks or to buy food. Ironically, we did stop about 10 times because of mechanical problems with the bus!
Because of all these issues, we missed our connecting train, which we had deliberately booked three hours after the bus’s scheduled arrival to allow plenty of extra time. At one point, we even had to change buses because ours had completely broken down.
We eventually arrived in Vientiane at 12 PM instead of the scheduled 8 AM.
Since we had already sent an angry email during the journey explaining that we would miss our train, the company offered to let us take another bus to Vang Vieng free of charge. Sounds like a reasonable solution, right? Unfortunately, even that turned into another frustrating experience.
Communication with the company was extremely poor. They responded very slowly and often didn’t even answer our actual questions. Eventually, we managed to get on another bus, but unbelievably, that bus broke down as well, forcing us to change buses yet again!
After more than five hours of delays and five buses in total, we finally reached our destination.
Overall, an incredibly frustrating experience with terrible organization, unreliable buses, and extremely poor communication. I would definitely not recommend this company!
The bus was extremely old and in very bad condition. I had to change beds because water started dripping down from the ceiling. There was no access to a toilet, the door was padlocked from the outside. It was freezing cold at night and some of the blankets were old. I don’t know why 12Go use this company, in the bus station there were other buses which looked so much better and newer. I would have preferred that option. I also paid double the price, because I didn’t want to share with a stranger. The space is not big enough for 2 people. Overall I would not recommend to anyone to book this bus and I would not take it again.
The bus left on time, but arrived three hours early. This was pretty inconvenient for our plans. The bed was comfier than I'd hoped, but there was dripping water coming from above our heads all night.
Scabby mattress. Unwashed blankets and heavily stained mattres/ pillow. No privacy curtain. Air conditioning vent broken so cold air all night. Beds very small. I was sharing on a matress big enough for one european male. Went to purchase another bed and was charged almost double the price as the bus was about to leave. Overall nothing like the picture. Ok to travel just know what you are getting. Purchase a double if european.
