OK, this is a 2nd-class and 3rd-class train serving rural areas, so that's why is does NOT get a "zero star" rating. The 2nd class compartment seats we had were comfortable, but the air conditioning was turned on FULL BLAST, and could not be lowered or turned off. There were ICICLES on the windows. People were bundled in winter clothes - though there is no winter here. I was unlucky - I had nothing. So I had to move back to 3rd class, where the open air windows made it nice, although the bench seats were awful. In all cars, the smell of open sewage toilets was pervasive and overwhelming - again, so so unusual in some countries. But the thought of actually USING the toilets...boy, it was truly desperation time. It would not take much to put some air sanitizers in there. But for the price, I was willing to suffer for 7 hours.
