Terrible service. 30 minutes late. Then stopped 10 mins into the journey for a 30 min lunch for the driver and female assistant. Passengers were not allowed off and without AC, causing discomfort and stress.
On the way to Phitsanulok driver went to bus station 2 first before bus station 1, contradicting the schedule and making arrival +35mins late.
Drivers were not communicative and very rude when I asked which direction they were going in advance so I could make arrangements. But they just ignored me.
The ride itself was good. Finding the pickup point could be easier. There were 2 bus stations. One was oposite a 4 lane road in the same direction. The wrong station had the Name of the discription in the voucher but was not correct. The GPS pick up point were in between both stations but closer to the correct one. A picture of the pick up point could be an improvement
Express trail (#7) on time. Seats were a bit unstable. Air conditioning good and not too freezing.
Advice is booking in advance because the train is full also in non touristic season.
The train is reasonably comfortable, the seats recline and for this price you definitely can’t complain. I do think however the length of the journey, in our case Ayyuthaya to Phitsanulok with 1h delay made it worse since it gets hotter and stickier by the hour. When the sun goes down, the bugs come into the train. The windows are open the whole time since it’s a fan only train and the bugs are having a field day with the lit up cars in the night. I’d therefore recommend taking the earlier train time if comfort and being bug free is important to you.
I had paid extra for the 2nd class coach so I was disappointed to find the whole train was made up of 3rd class coaches and I wasted the extra for 2nd class.
