Good company, nothing much to complain.
We took the early ride at 8:30 in the morning and left pretty much on time (+10min). The staff was friendly and professional and - despite what other comments said - we arrived at Bangsal Lombok as the last stop after 2.5 hours.
The ferry gets very crammed after Gili T with loud party tourists (as you'd expect from that island) but the first half of the ride was excellent, comfy and calm.
What could be improved is the expected check-in time of 1hour prior.. it's a bit much, especially in the morning (there's a kinda pricey restaurant just next to the company's office).
We have had a great experience using this service.. AC, seats and overall experience using Wahana was great. Although their prices are slightly higher then other operators but I highly recommend using them. Please remember that you will be charged 10k IDR per person to enter the harbour paid directly at counter when you receive your boarding pass and scanable ticket.
This journey does not take 2hrs, it is a 4hr trip with this company. We had great weather, no problems, left on time, and the journey was 4hrs. Plus arriving 1hr before departure. The public 'slow boat' option is only 60k/£3 so if you are willing to go to the south of Lombok it is a more organised option that doesn't take much longer. The staff here were rude, mocking and looking to make extra money from people where they can. The pier is CHAOS with hundreds of people pushing for different boats. No one regulates these services and as such the organisation/safety standards are poor. Boat itself was HOT and very cramped. Not suitable at all for anyone with mobility issues or disabilities- you need to climb on and off boat.
The trip took more than 4 hours (instead of 2) and it was a gamble if my name was on the actual list, so apparently it's not that trustworthy. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone
This company is great, the boat is great, it's very comfortable and the staff are very professional. There's A/C on the boat and it's way better than the other boat companies! Two things to be aware of, though. Fist of all, they boarded 30 minutes early, and left 15 minutes early, which great if you're there, but it's not so good if you run into any problems. But they tell you to be there 1 hour early, so I guess that's why. So DON'T listen to the travel companies or taxi guys who say, "Oh don't worry, all the boats leave late." These guys don't!
Next, I asked the guy just as I boarded how long the trip will take to Bangsal. He said, "Just 1.5 hours." It gets to the first stop which is Gili T in 1.5 hours, but there are 2 stops before Bangsal, and he knows that. ALL the boats arrive much later than they say on the listings, so I don't know why they don't just say the real time. Especially considering I asked him once I was already there and he could have just told me the truth. The trip took almost 3 hours. Not such big deal for me, but better to know the real time. Maybe it was because of the weather conditions, I have no idea, but it was a nice day as far as I could see. And reading the reviews of ALL the companies, I think this is just normal for the ferries.
But definitely recommend this company over the others!
Initially it started good. They almost left on time but were delayed as 2 passengers arrived too late. But estimated time of arrival was far from accurate as we arrived over one hour late. We also had 2 change to another boat for the last part. Staff was ok and helpful.
The trip was supposed to take 1h56min, and to Lombok, they never mentioned that we would stopping first at Gili T and Gili Air.
The organisation at Padang Bai was non existent so we were all trying to get on board at the same time, which made us leave late.
No Aircon on board
Boat was cancelled an hour before we left/as we were checking in (12:30 for the 1:30 boat). Rushed to get transferred to the 5.5 hour slow-ferry that we sat on for almost 2 hours before it left for the 5+ hour ride to Lombok.
