The trip was overall okay, but our sleeping room was very dirty and the employees were always waking us up during sleep. They began to open our door at 5 a.m. and continued until our arrival so we couldn't sleep at all.

It would have been excellent had the seat numbers been correct. We were told seats 13 and 14, the welcome letters in the room said 13 and 14 - but we were actually in 11 and 12, and it caused enormous problems with other customers on entry. When we got to 11 and 12, it greatly exceeded expectations and the journey was very comfortable indeed.

The train was old, and the cabin didn’t quite look like in the picture. We came in and our cabin was already taken. Fortunately, we could take the next one, but we were not informed of the change ahead of time. Mattress was very hard ( compared to the train we took from Hanoi to Sapa) and toilets not so clean.

We purchased the tickets a few weeks ahead and we emailed our tickets.. When we got onboard it was a 4 person cabin although we were booked for a 2 person berth.. Then another 2 turned up for the same beds.. The train car was in poor condition although the seats were not uncomfortable. Ticket was for an 8:15am departure with an estimated arrival time of 7:38pm. We didnt get to Hue until 9:20pm. When I purchased tickets, there were no options for seat selection but was given two seats together and another seat on the other side of the train car. The attendants would not allow me to switch the ticket even though the train was not full at any point on the journey.

Could only give this average as some woman got on train at 5 o'clock in the morning and decided it was good to make and receive several phone calls. She was very loud, whereas the gentleman before her was quiet.
