Ubon Ratchathani Hotels, Guesthouses and Resorts
Some say Ubon Ratchathani doesn’t have enough accommodation options. We say that’s just not true – at least not anymore. With the increase in tourism and rise of the Internet, Ubon has sprouted a number of decent hotel and guesthouse options. No matter what your budget, you’ll surely find something here.
Which area to choose
Most hotels are located within walking distance to Thung Si Muang Park. If you stay nearby - within the boundaries of the Mun River and the bordering highway – you won’t have to look too hard for a place to stay. Start with the park as your centre point, and walk outward in any direction.
However, if you’d rather stay further away, grab a tuk-tuk and head down the main road. You’ll continue to find more options in the direction of the nearby airport.
Budget
If budget is your priority, you’re in the right place. Not only will you be able to find numerous cheap hotel or guesthouse options, you’ll also find good value. While rooms will likely be rather basic, you can expect clean and suitable accommodations.
A cheap option with a community feel is 28 Rachabutr Hostel. You probably won’t find many other places with such a budget-traveller-friendly vibe, so if that’s what you’re after, this hostel is a good option.
28 Rachabutr gives off a homey feel with tons of character. Multiple floors house guest rooms, bathroom facilities, and balconies with seating areas. You’ll also enjoy free wifi throughout the hostel. The cheapest rooms offered are dorms with shared bathrooms and fans at THB200 per night. On the higher end, you’ll pay THB450 for a double bed and air conditioning, but there are no private bathroomshere. (28 Ratchabutr Rd)
Mid-range
One of our favourite mid-range hotel options is Bua Boutique Hotel. While it might not be the classiest boutique hotel you’ve ever come across, it does offer excellent value and location. Just a few minutes walk from the park, this hotel is clean, fairly modern, and comfortable. For THB550, you’ll get a private room with a king size bed, air conditioning, wifi, a TV, and a mini fridge. Guests also have access to an on-site karaoke bar and coffee shop. If you want a clean, comfortable place to lay your head, all in an excellent location, Bua Boutique Hotel might be perfect for you. (179/1-4 Uparat Rd.)
Our next favourite mid-range option is Nevada Inn Hotel. While it seemed a bit more dated than Bua Boutique, the location and convenience to tons of amenities are what put this hotel on our list. Nevada Inn offers guests access to a bowling alley, pool, spa, kids club, and a number of eating options. If you feel like staying in for a day, this might be the best way to do it.
Guest rooms are large with free wifi, TVs, fridges, and air conditioning. The hotel also offers 24-hour room service and free breakfast, which are nice perks. Nevada Inn’s style is a bit lacking, but in all other areas, we give it a thumbs up. Rooms start at THB550. (436/1 Chayangkul Road Tambol Naimuang Muang District)
Top end
If you’re looking for luxury, the closest thing you’ll find is Laithong Hotel. While the furnishings are somewhat dated, this hotel is clean, well kept, and comfortable, with nice decorative touches. You’ll get all the regulars here like air conditioning, free wifi, and TVs in the room. You’ll also get access to the hotel’s hot tub, hot spring bath, pool, and spa. Rooms start at THB800, so this spot is still by no means a budget buster. If you’re willing to spend a bit extra, you’ll get a lot of comfort and convenience for a low price at Laithong.
