Dan Sai Thailand – Best Guesthouses and Hotels to Stay
The majority of accommodation offered in town falls into budget and mid-range categories. Do not expect anything too fancy but there are some very attractive options which offer a special authenticity and should be considered wish you to try something different.

Located in the south part of town close to the bus stop on route 2013, Dan Sai Resort (391 Moo 3) is one of the oldest, more popular and cheapest options in town. Despite it would clearly do a deep renovation, it is still a favorite choice for people on a budget that can’t be bothered to get a tuk tuk to get to town. Everything in fact is within minutes walking and for just a few night the anonymous and small fan rooms will do the trick. For THB300 you’ll get a double room with private bathroom, hot water and free Wi-Fi. For THB500 the newer air-con rooms are definitely better furnished and they come with a flat screen TV and a more comfortable mattresses. If you’re visiting during Phi Ta Khon expect the rates for this hotel and all the others in this article to be at least a couple of hundreds THB higher and of course don’t forget to book well in advance.
On the same road 200 mt west of the bus stop, Baan Chan Bhu (205 Moo 14) offers newer and better rooms with air-con, tv and private bathroom starting at THB600. A bit excessive when compared to what you can usually get for that price somewhere else in Thailand, the prices are justified by the perfect location close to everything.
Two km east of town on route 2013 Mountain Green Resort (589 Moo 3) is a cheap alternative solution to people who are keen to experiment with something different. The most affordable rooms in fact are not exactly rooms, but tents; don’t expect your regular small camping tent though, but a larger, more stable and comfortable one with a wooden platform built high enough from the ground to keep you dry even during a heavy night storm. The tent is big enough to feature a regular double bed. The name of the resort says it all and it’s not deceiving whatsoever; the view on the mountains is spectacular and the garden where the tents are located is really beautiful and relaxing. A good Thai restaurant is part of the resort but to have a special dinner and socialize with fellow travelers a barbecue is available to be freely used by customers. A tent will come for a price of THB500 while more traditional rooms (really nice as well) with air-con, flat screen TV and private toilette will start at THB800. For more adventurous travelers regular size tents are available with a futon bed inside at THB300. Bicycles can be rented on site to move back and forth to town.
Top End
For anyone looking for a bit of luxury, Phunacome Resort (461 Moo 3, Ban Doen) is by far the best hotel in town. Located in a lush valley with lots of green and ponds 10 minutes east of town, it offers standard double rooms in one of the buildings close to the lobby and superior rooms in traditional wooden bungalows in what they call ‘’Isaan village’’. All the rooms are beautifully designed and furnished, and the best of it all is the landscape around you. A restaurant on site is the only solution for dinner since there’s nothing else around and luckily enough the food is delicious; on the menu you’ll find a lot of Isaan dishes along with traditional Thai and some Chinese options. A swimming pool at sunset will make your day once you come back from town. Good mountain bike are free to use for guests, but be ready to struggle a bit on your way back since the road is slightly uphill. During Phi Ta Khon a free shuttle service to town is available. Rates start at THB2500 for the standard rooms.
