Events Cancelled or Postponed in Thailand in March 2020 – Plan Accordingly

Quite a number of events have recently been cancelled all around Thailand over the COVID-19 fears. Those who travel specifically to attend festivals, fairs ad events are highly recommended to check if the schedule remains unchanged before making their travel plans.

Arguably the most disappointing change concerns the Thai MotoGP Championship race which was due to return to the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand between March 20–22 for the third time since 2018. The new date of the race has not been announced yet.

The Ayutthaya World Heritage Fair, that was scheduled for March, 13-22, has been cancelled.

In Pattaya, there are at least three planned events that have been cancelled, too. These include:
– Pattaya Marine Run 2020 on March, 14 on Pattaya Beach
– The St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2020 on March, 17, which is an annual event
– The Pattaya Music Festival on March 20–1, which is also an annual and highly popular event drawing hordes of local and international tourists to the seaside city.

Some of the events cancelled or postponed in Bangkok include:
– The much anticipated World’s Largest Parade of Food Trucks scheduled for March, 7–8 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani and which was supposed to set a new Guinness World Record, has been cancelled.
– The Thailand Coffee Fest 2020 at IMPACT Arena Muang Thong Thani. Scheduled for March, 12-15, it has been postponed indefinitely.
Plearn Phra Nakhon Walking Street on Phra Athit Road & in Santi Chai Prakan Park on March, 21–22 has been cancelled.

Also cancelled is the famous Tattoo Festival which traditionally takes place at Wat Bang Phra, in Nakhon Pathom Province, about 50 km west of Bangkok.

China has extended visa-free travel to Poland, Australia, and New Zealand until the end of 2025.
