Where to Go Backpacking in 2020? List of 20 Best Destinations

Dublin-based online hostel reservation platform Hostelworld has recently released their list of 20 best destinations for backpackers to visit in 2020. Six of them are located in Asia with Nuda Penisa, Bali, Indonesia, topping the list, wow!

The rating is based on popularity among users of the platform and the number of bookings for each destination. During the past 12 months, the number of bookings for accommodation in Nusa Penida increased by up to 610 percent, resulting in its leading position in the rating.

While far from being off-the-beaten-track, Nusa Penida still manages to retain its authentical wild flavour at the same time offering a good selection of accommodation, local restaurants and an amazing array of activities ranging from manta rays encounters to freediving.

A close runner-up is Surat Thani in Thailand, home to the famous Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao islands.
