Pattaya to Host Thailand Travel Mart 2019

Thailand Travel Mart Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM+) 2019, the most important travel trade show in Thailand, will kick off tomorrow in the seaside resort city of Pattaya.

The three-day event is held under the 'New Shades of Emerging Destinations' theme and focuses on promoting emerging tourist destinations across the country in order to create new jobs in the tourism sector and distribute revenue nationwide instead of concentrating it in the major tourist centres and cities, allowing local communities to benefit from tourism, too.

The event is held in the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, south of the city. It is the biggest marina in Southeast Asia, and it is the second consecuitive year the Ocean Marina hosts Travel Mart.

This year, 351 buyers, 371 sellers, and around 130 international and domestic media will attend the fair. Buyers come from 51 countries and over a half of them are repeated visitors, the other half being the first-time visitors. China has the widest representation of buyers at the fair with 65 registered visitors. Other countries with high number of visitors are the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Italy, USA, Russia, and Brazil.

Most sellers represent hotels and resorts. There are also travel agents and tour operators, emerging destinations, and entertainment venues among others.
