Festivities will take place over a 7-days period from February, 4 till February, 10. During this week, TAT expects to welcome over 300,000 Chinese tourists who are predicted to spend over 10 billion baht.
The major celebrations are planned in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. In Bangkok, Siam Square will be the epicentre of the action on February, 4–6, with Yaowarat Road in China Town inviting visitors on 5 February. In Chiang Mai, come to the Maya Lifestyle Shopping Centre on February, 5 and 6. In Phuket, Central Phuket Floresta will become the main stage of the festival on the same dates. The program in all the three locations features cultural performances, demonstrations of a variety of art forms from China and a fair where authentic products and auspicious foods can be bought.
Other popular Chinese New Year destinations in Thailand this year will include Nakhon Sawan, Suphan Buri, Ratchaburi, Ayutthaya, Phetchaburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Udon Thani, Trang, Chon Buri, and Songkhla (Hat Yai).
