With this codeshare, passengers will also check their baggage right through. For inbound passengers from Moscow, and the many other European airports Aeroflot flies from, this will do away with the hassle of reclaiming luggage at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport and then checking it in again for flights to domestic Thai locations such as Chiang Mai and Koh Samui.
The same scenario works in reverse and passengers flying from Thai airports with Bangkok Airways are able to check their bags right through to their final Aeroflot destination in Asia or Europe. This latest alliance with Aeroflot marks significant efforts by Bangkok Airways to offer passengers greater convenience.
Bangkok Airways currently has codeshare alliances in place with another 15 international airlines. These include British Airways, KLM and Air France. Bangkok Airways’ focus on passenger comfort and amenities has led airline review website Skytrax to give the carrier a four-star ranking.
