The window for travel is 1 October to 30 November on most routes. One-way fully-inclusive flights between Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and Chiang Mai are THB1,600, and to Phuket are THB1,900. Routes to other airports such as Hat Yai and Krabi have pro-rata reductions on scheduled fares.
Flights on THAI’s Bangkok-Chiang Rai route are only discounted until 26 October. THAI is a full-service carrier and, unlike budget carriers such as AirAsia, includes a standard 20kg checked luggage allowance and a basic snack in its ticket prices.
October marks the holiday between the two terms in the educational year for Thai school pupils. The airline gave the reason for the fare promotion as to encourage travel over the half-year holiday and to fill seats prior to the start of the peak tourist season in December.

Thai Airways has announced a promotional campaign to coincide with the forthcoming school holidays. The Thai flag carrier is cutting fares on key domestic routes by up to 20 per cent through to November 30 2014.
