From Chiang Mai to Hanoi Direct with AirAsia from October

No more layovers in Bangkok! AirAsia is launching direct flights between the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai and the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi. The first flight will take off on Monday, October, 28th.

Currently, four flights a week are scheduled in each direction: on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flights will be operated by Thai AirAsia. FD 870 departs Chiang Mai Airport at 1.20pm landing in Hanoi at 2.50, with flight time of one hour 30 minutes. The return flight FD 871 takes off from Noi Bai International Airport at 3.20pm and arrives to Chiang Mai at 6.55pm. Hurry up as currently there is a juicy promotion starting roughly from USD35 one-way.

For AirAsia, it is the eighth international route performed from Chiang Mai Airport: the airline already flies between Chiang Mai and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Macau; Hong Kong; Changsha in China; Yangon in Maynmar and Taipei in Taiwan. 

It is believed that Chiang Mai-Hanoi route has a huge potential to grow into one of the busiest international routes from Chiang Mai. Currently, the top-10 most flown Chiang Mai routes are between Thailand and China and are as follows: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Singapore, Chongqing, Seoul, Macau, Hangzhou.
