Destinations to Visit Before Everyone Else Does

A popular British online travel companion website Travelsupermakert has published the list of the fastest growing tourist destinations to put in your travel bucket before everyone else does.

The list is based on the comparison of the expected increase of tourist arrivals by 2025 with 2017 figures. The projected numbers of tourist arrivals have been taken from Euromonitor's data. And what we see – unsurprisingly – all of the 25 fastest growing tourist destinations with two exceptions of Cairo and Dubai – are found in Asia with half of them – well, 12, strictly speaking – located in Southeast Asia.

The ranking is topped by two Indonesian destinations – Jakarta, Java, and Denpasar, Bali. By 2025 these islands will see 100% and 97% growth of tourist arrivals. Java is already experiencing a negative impact of excessive tourism and has recently limited the number of visitors to one of its iconic attractions, Borobudur Temple.

India is the country with the highest number of destinations included into the list – with Jaipur, Chennai, Agra, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai all ready to welcome between 79% and 88% more tourists in the cource of 8 years.

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam will attract more and more visitors (85%, 72% and 67% respectively), while both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia will grow 80% each. No such rating can do without at least a couple of destinations in Thailand – indeed, Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok are all featured (83%, 73%, 71%).

What is left is Cairo in Egypt (88%), Seoul and Jeju island in the South Korea (73% and 71%), Macau, Singapore and Hong Kong, all expecting to increase their tourist arrivals by 71%, Johor Bahru, the only destination in Malaysia which made it to the ranking (68%), Colombo in Sri Lanka (67%) and Dubai in OAE (67%).

We hate saying that but do visit before all of these destinations become overcrowded with tourists.
