The forum is one of the most important ASEAN's annual events aiming at development of tourism between the nations of the association. Besides the representatives of the 10 ASEAN countries – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam – the ministers of tourism related ministries from China, Japan, South Korea and India have been also invited to take part in the gathering.
In the frame of ATF the meetings of a variety of associations dealing with hospitality and tourism industry will be organized, too. These include meetings of the ASEAN Tourism, Federation of ASEAN Travel, ASEAN Airlines and the ASEAN Hotel & Restaurant associations.
Vietnam sees ATF as a great opportunity to promote their tourism internationally, make the visitors acquainted with the rich culture, traditions, natural beauty of Vietnam, and attract more tourists and investment into the country's tourism industry.
Vietnam laready hosted the forum 10 years ago, in 2009, but since then the regional hospitality sector has changed significantly.
ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 Goes to Vietnam
News in AsiaASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 will be held in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam, early the next year. In 2018, the Forum took place in January in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai.
