The level of haze from forest fires in Chiang Mai reached the safe limit on this week, the average mass of small particles in the air was 202 mg\m³ while the standard is 120 mg\m². The situation threatens not only the people's health but also the local aviation.
Some flights of local airlines such as Nok Air, Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways were canceled or rescheduled as the pilot can’t land in Chiang Mai because of low visibility. To cope with it the administration of Chiang Mai International Airport installed more lighting on the runway to help pilots.
