The Top of the Gulf Regatta Is to be Held in Pattaya End of April

The Gulf of Thailand will host the annual Top of the Gulf Regatta from April 27 to May 1 in Pattaya. It will be held for the 14th time since 2005. 

The Ocean Marine Yacht Club will be the headquarters of the event which is aimed at promoting sailing and making it more accessible. Various kinds of vessels – keelboats, multihulls, beach catamarans. Optimists and others and even radio controlled boats will be provided with free berthing for the period of the regatta. Up to 12 classes of boats are going to compete. As for the sailors, they will represent different age groups – youngsters, former Olympians, regional champions, professionals and amateurs.  

The event will proceed in accordance with the previous formula, but there will be some new elements – a new arrangement for all race classes which will finish simultaneously for the sailors to participate in the final gala dinner, the results will appear on the website immediately and there will be a new menu at the Sailor’s Bar. Social events will be held every night – discussions of the day on a club lawn, prize-giving, free drinks to the participants and happy hour prices at the bar.
