Thai AirAsia Udon Thani to Chiang Mai flights ready for takeoff

Thai AirAsia is preparing to launch a new cross-country route linking two of Thailand’s biggest cities. The first flights between Chiang Mai and Udon Thani are scheduled for takeoff on the 15 February 2018.

In a news update posted on its website, Thai AirAsia notes there will be one flight in each direction per day. The outbound service from Udon Thani will depart at 14:00 and land in Chiang Mai at 15:20. Departure times for the return services are 15:50 and scheduled landing times back in Udon Thani at 17:10.

When the route was first announced in December, commercial-director Santisuk Klongchaiya explained it was a verification of Thai AirAsia’s commitment to offering flyers more choices. He carried on by saying the route would be a boon to both tourists and business travellers.

Mr Klongchaiya finished off by saying Thai AirAsia would be utilising Airbus A320s configured for 180 passengers to fly the Chiang Mai-Udon Thani route. 12GO ASIA says these aircraft are comfortable enough for what is a fairly short journey. Thai AirAsia’s services will add to the choices already offered by Nok Air on the same route.
