Chiang Mai to host UK style music fest next week

The weekend after next will see Chiang Mai stage the third edition of the Jai Thep Music Festival. The three-day music and arts extravaganza begins on Friday the 2 February 2018 and is being held at the Lanna Rock Garden in the Northern Thai city’s southern district of Hangdong.

Although Jai Thep will not feature the big names such illustrious UK festivals as Glastonbury does, the cast of performers is bound to satisfy all musical tastes. The five stages at Jai Thep are set to host The Die Hards, Alex Cruz, Strange Brew, DJ Overstay and a whole ensemble of other artistes.

One of the stages will be in an isolated zone of the Lanna Rock Garden so that it can operate 24/7. This stage is being given over to contemporary trance and techno vibes while another will host visual arts shows. Jai Thep workshops will add another facet to the entertainment and are sure to delight youngsters among the attendees.

12GO ASIA’s Chiang Mai representative explains that the Lanna Rock Garden is about 20kms from the city and on Highway 1269 to Samoeng. Advance entry tickets are available from Jai Thep Festival’s own website and are discounted when compared to on-the-gate prices.
