The ministry’s inspector-general continued by saying both extra carriages and extra trains would help carry passengers during the holiday. On the 29 and 30 December eight additional trains will be added to key routes outbound from Bangkok.
On the 2 and 3 January, six more services than usually scheduled will bring New Year revellers back to Bangkok. Extra carriages will be added to all intercity trains travelling between Bangkok and destinations including Chiang Mai, Udonthani, Ubon Ratchathani and Hat Yai for the six days.

Thai rail operator to up train capacities for New Year holidays
News in AsiaA senior Transport Ministry official told reporters the State Railway of Thailand would be increasing passenger train capacities over the New Year holidays. Anon Luangboribun stated that the total daily capacity would be increased to 120,000 passengers for the period between 29 December and 3 January.
