Anant Wongbenjarat emphasised that claims could only be made against licensed firms which contributed to the Tourist Business Protection Fund. If a complaint against a particular travel company is upheld, the Tourism Department will pay out first and then claim back from the firm.

Compensation on offer for scammed tourists in Thailand

The Tourism Department director says tourists will now be able to lodge claims against licensed tour operators and travel firms which do not deliver what they advertised.
