The question of cable cars in Chiang Mai still remains undecided

The Chiang Mai cable cars might become the biggest in the world, but this promising project initiated by the government's Pinkanakorn Development Agency and Prime Minister of Thailand encountered difficulties.

The promising project to introduce cable cars in Chiang Mai initiated by the government's Pinkanakorn Development Agency and Prime Minister of Thailand encountered difficulties.

A public forum was held in Chiang Mai a few days ago, some of the members did not agree with the project because in their opinion it will influence on the environment and northern culture negatively.

The Chiang Mai cable cars might become the biggest in the world. According to plan it will stretch for ten kilometers from Chiang Mai Night Safari through the Royal Park Ratchaphruek and Doi Phadam to Doi Pui in Doi Suthep-Doi Pui National Park. The expected cost of the project is 2 billion baht.

The cable cars will promote increasing of tourists in Chiang Mai and greater variety of transport in the city.
