The route will see passengers fly from Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport to Buri Ram and then transfer to buses for the final leg of the journey to Surin. Outbound flights are scheduled to depart at 12:25 and arrive in Buri Ram 45 minutes later.
There is a 30-minute window to allow passengers to deplane and board buses. Buses leave at 13:50 and arrive in Surin at 15:20. Buses from Surin will set off at 11:30 and get to Buri Ram at 13:00. The flight for Bangkok takes off at 14:05 and lands at 15:00.
Santisuk Klongchaiya is Thai AirAsia’s commercial-director and he says combined fly-bus routes are popular with both domestic and international travellers as they provide convenient access to locations without their own airports. The airline currently operates these services to destinations that include Sukhothai and Pai as well as ones with onward ferry services to islands such as Koh Phangan and Koh Phi Phi.

Thai AirAsia is in the process of adding Thailand’s famous Elephant City to its domestic timetable. A spokesperson for the Thai budget carrier says it will offer a combined flight-bus service from Bangkok to the city of Surin with the first flight scheduled for 14 May 2015.
