Ticket price depends on the seat class, departure time and day of the week, length of the route and demand. Obviously, the cheapest seats sell out very fast, and an advance reservation is a must to secure one. Many airlines run promotions – to grab the best deals, subscribe to
airlines’ social media accounts, and become a member of their frequent flier programs. Some airlines allow members of such programs to get discounted tickets or access to the best deals a couple of days before such tickets are available to all travellers.

Please note that some ticket classes do not include anything but the trip itself. You may be asked to pay extra for offline check-in, and choosing your seat, luggage, and meals. It may look inconvenient but if you are ready to travel light, can survive a couple of hours without eating on board, are ready to depart or arrive out of rush hours and to and from less convenient airports, such fares provide a good opportunity to save some money on your further travels.

Pros of Flight Travel

• Without a doubt, planes are the best choice for long-haul travel covering the
  distance between the two destinations in the shortest time possible. Even if
  you add the time for getting to and from the airport and the time necessary to
  go through all the airport formalities, you still win time-wise. Sometimes it is also the only way to get to your destination without many connections, too.
• With many budget airlines introducing domestic and international routes, flying becomes more and more affordable. Sometimes an air ticket will cost you even less than a train or bus ticket. Do check your options even if you are used to bussing or rail travel, especially if you travel domestically.
• While very often there are enough options in the sense of departure and arrival times,

Cons of Flight Travel

• Travelling to and from the airport may take quite a lot of time as very often they are situated in the outskirts or out of town. Not all airports can boast easy and straightforward transport solutions for travellers to get to and from the air haven. Do check your options before you book the ticket as in some cases this trip to the airport can be even more expensive than your air ticket itself.
• All airlines require you to arrive well in advance to check in, register your luggage and go through security checks. For short-distance flights, these formalities may result in longer travel time than that offered by buses or trains.
• There are people who suffer from aerophobia, and flying may be a stressful experience for them, especially if flying domestically on smaller planes prone to turbulence.
