Our favourite feature is the fact that it is only a stone’s throw from the buzzing and lively Hard Rock Café.
2. NauHere Dorm
With the outside of this dorm feature a whimsical, vertical garden, this dormitory is ideal for travellers who enjoy staying somewhere quirky, fun and unusual. NauHere Dorm allows guests to experience the marvel of sleeping in a cosy and comfortable 3D capsule for the night. The capsule includes a foldaway desk, lamp, power socket, locker as well as toiletries to use in the shared bathroom with both hot and cold showers. The décor is chic, trendy and ultra-stylish and is a unique fusion between futuristic and artsy. Other than the price, this highly-recommended hotel’s top feature is its suburb location. Situated slap-bang in the centre of Poppies Lane, guests of Asana Agung Putra Hotel have easy walking access to the beach and prime surf spots; cheap, scrumptious restaurants; and shopping opportunities galore. Plus, inside the hotel itself, is a decadent massage spa, a restaurant whipping up Indonesian and Western fare, and an outdoor pool. While not the cheapest of the lot, we found this hotel to not only offer excellent value for money but the service impeccable and wonderfully friendly. All rooms have air-con, Wi-Fi and a private bathroom while some offer cable TV and a minibar and breakfast is generally included. Room rates start at IDR 380, 000.
4. Beneyasa Beach Inn 2
Weary backpackers with unreliable bus arrivals and dead cellphone batteries are only too familiar with the delight that the 24-hour front desks can bring. Here at Beneyasa Beach Inn 2 this is just one of the many delightful features. Lovely, fan-cooled rooms that overlook an outdoor pool offer travellers a rejuvenating, affordable and comfortable stay while still located in the heart of Kuta. Room rates start at IDR 875,000 for a deluxe room offering a minibar, air-con, a balcony, complimentary tea and coffee, and a 42 inch Smart TV.
6. Ramayana Resort & Spa

We’ve stayed at many interesting places in the world, and this hotel definitely makes the cut for one of the most fun and unusual.
