Tourists report queuing for making pictures of the famous cliff resembling a T-Rex, takes up to an hour with the majority of visitors being Asians. Taking into account that the viewing 'platform' from where pictures can be taken is very rustic and shaky and the path is steep, sand sleepery and narrow, the whole activity becomes rather risky when the area is crowded.
The beach itself has lately become one of the major draws of Nusa Penida and is often advertised as a Bali attraction. Several reputed international websites and magazines have recently ranked it high in different 'best beaches' lists. CNN Asia named it number nine most beautiful beach in Asia while TripAdvisor's users put it on the second line of the Asia's best beaches and on the 19th place in the world.
To get to Nusa Penida from Bali, take a boat from Sanur if you are starting from Kuta or Denpasar; or from Padang Bai if you are based in Candidasa, Amed or elsewhere along the eastern coast of Bali. There is a big slow car ferry from Padang Bai once a day while Sanur–Nusa Penida route is served by a number of speed-boat operators.
